Dr. Henrietta Williams Pichon

Dr. Henrietta Williams Pichon began her tenure as Dean of the College of Education at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) in July 2022. Prior to her appointment at UCCS, Dr. Pichon served as the Interim Dean for the newly formed College of Health, Education, and Social Transformation at New Mexico State University (NMSU) and Interim Dean and Interim Associate Dean in the College of Education at NMSU. She also served in tenure-line faculty positions at Northwestern State University and Rowan University and was the Director of Retention at the University of New Orleans.

She has had multiple publications and scholarly conference presentations throughout her tenure as a faculty member. Her primary research and teaching focus include access, development, and persistence of historically underserved populations in higher education, which include students, faculty, and staff.

Dr. Pichon has worked in academia since 1994. She earned a B.A. in English and a M.Ed. in secondary English education from Louisiana Tech University. She earned a Ph.D. in education administration (higher education) from the University of New Orleans. Dr. Pichon is a 2008 LMI Alumna.
